A native of Lebanon, Matt Drury recognized what his calling in life was at a very young age. His desire and passion to become a funeral director are what motivate him every day- serving families in need of guidance and sincere compassion. He has worked for both small family owned funeral homes as well as the world’s largest funeral home corporation. This experience has taught him the difference between corporate owned firms versus family owned and operated funeral businesses. There is a difference and being able to share this with families allows them to think outside the box and create a service that will long be remembered.

As a young man, John Leppert knew that he wanted to become a funeral director. The son of an insurance agency owner he started working with his father. He always knew that this just was not his calling. After a short stint working for the largest funeral home operation in Indianapolis, John had a clear vision as to how he was going to build what has become one of the premier funeral homes in the state of Indiana. His unwavering commitment to his community and to the families he has been privileged to serve for the past 35 years has earned him the distinguished reputation as an industry leader. He recognized some of these qualities in Matt Drury who came to work for him and believes that, together, they can offer the families of Lebanon the same commitment to excellence in service at a competitive price.

Along with Matt and John, Ron Bartlett will be providing families his experienced services as a funeral director with the Drury & Leppert Mortuary. In the early 60s Bartlett and Leppert were classmates in mortuary school- a friendship that has grown over 47 years enabling John to keep in touch with the Lebanon community. Both the Leppert and Bartlett families grew up in the funeral homes they owned & operated providing dedicated and personalized service. He is the former owner of Russell & Hitch Funeral Homes in Lebanon and Thorntown and values the relationships he has cultivated with the many families he has served.
